Meet Dr. JW McPherson

Hi, I’m Dr. JW McPherson, a Christian, husband, dad, and dentist. I was born and raised on my family’s Ranch in Lockney, TX, just an hour north of Lubbock. Why did I become a dentist? It’s simple. I had a great experience at the orthodontist and gained a lot of confidence from a handsome smile, and I wanted to do that for other people.

I received a bachelor’s in biology at West Texas A&M University, which is where I met my beautiful wife, Stephanie. I then went to Dental School at The University of Texas Health and Science Center in San Antonio, where I graduated with a distinction in Dental Education.

We later moved to Amarillo where I practiced dentistry for five years and took an advanced course for placing implants. I wanted to own my own practice, so we made the move to Lubbock to fulfill our dream!

I live and practice dentistry by two principles: the golden rule of treating others the way I want to be treated, and second, loving God and loving people! I do dentistry on everyone, from kids to geriatrics, and I offer all aspects of General dentistry: crowns, veneers, whitening, implants, fillings, extractions, orthodontics (clear aligners), and dentures and partials.

Outside of the office, I’m extremely busy with my wife, Stephanie, and my three kids, Kennedy (8), Erin (6), and Cole (4). When I’m not having fun with them, I love dabbling in woodworking. When you come to the office, you will see various items I’ve made, like furniture and art.
